Thinkabit Lab

The Qualcomm® Thinkabit Lab™ at the Virginia Tech Roanoke Center opened in April 2019.
Our lab features an engaging maker space and coding experience where students complete and present a project. Their one-day field trip will be enriched by instruction on Arduino microcontrollers using breadboards, servos, circuitry, LEDs and solar panels, while their creative side can use plastic, plush toys, glitter and more in their one-of-a-kind creation.
Our lab combines the expertise of Qualcomm's model with Virginia Tech's rich resources to create an inclusive STEM environment for students.

The Thinkabit Lab experience is a one-day field trip that is currently open to sixth grade students, though we look forward to expanding to other grades. Students will receive instruction from a Virginia Tech facilitator and have lunch provided on the Virginia Tech Roanoke Center campus.
Program participation is funded by Qualcomm and our generous corporate sponsors. If you are interested in sponsoring a field trip for students or have questions about the lab, please email Scott Weimer or call (540) 767-6100.
