Roanoke STEAM Day is an interactive event held in downtown Roanoke for area schools. Students experience exhibitors, experts and emerging technologies at various host organizations across the downtown area. The Virginia Tech Roanoke Center offers a short, engaging session each month on a current topic that is open to the public. Facts & Snacks is currently being held virtually.
This quarterly event at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center features a FREE interactive discussion from Virginia Tech faculty. The topic changes with each faculty member presenting. Seating is limited and light refreshments are served.
What it is: A quarterly gathering at the Virginia Tech Roanoke Center from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is complimentary.
How it works:
- From 4 to 4:30, participants will engage in intentional networking, sparred by some creativity!
- From 4:30-4:45, we'll have a Three-for-All - enjoy food, non-alcoholic beverages and swag from our generous sponsors.
- From 4:45-5:30, there's a program that changes every time - you'll want to catch them all!
- From 5:30-6, there's a networking challenge with a prize drawing. Don't worry, it's easy and so much fun!

Our lab features an engaging maker space and coding experience where students complete and present a project. Their one-day field trip will be enriched by instruction on Arduino microcontrollers using breadboards, servos, circuitry, LEDs and solar panels, while their creative side can use plastic, plush toys, glitter and more in their one-of-a-kind creation.
