This career exploration activity has students investigating solutions to living on a real exoplanet, TRAPPIST-1e. Students join one of six A.C.E (Association for the Cohabitation of Exoplanets) career teams in agricultural, aerospace, biomedical, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering to design and construct models needed for life on TRAPPIST-1e using specialized mission parameters. Program may be adapted for grade level. Topics include the solar system, orbits, exoplanets, data interpretation, model design/construction, and the engineering design process.
