VIRGINIA TECH FAMILY BUSINESS FORUM

The Virginia Tech Roanoke Center hosts the Virginia Tech Family Business Forum, a series of programs and support services specifically designed to meet the diverse needs of family owned and closely held businesses in the region. From September - May, the Forum features monthly educational programs facilitated by leading experts in all areas of family business. In addition to educational programs, Forum members have access to a variety of other services, including confidential Owner Roundtables, Next Generation Roundtables, consulting services, and Virginia Tech's Family Therapy Center.

Meet Virginia Tech's Family Business Forum
Leadership Team


3Jim Pilversack is a director of the Family Business Forum. Jim serves as the facilitator for confidential Owner Roundtables, Next Generation Roundtables, and other consultative services to Forum Members. Jim brings over 20 years of experience assisting large corporations as well as small, private and family-owned businesses plan their futures. Scott Johnson, Ph.D. is the center director and program head for The Family Therapy Center of Virginia Tech. The Center operates under the direction of faculty in the Marriage and Family Therapy Ph.D. program, which is the oldest fully accredited family therapy doctoral program in the nation. Forum members have special access to services provided by the Family Therapy Center. Dr. Johnson has consulted to organizations and businesses on a wide variety of issues and problems and is currently President Elect of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
